9. My Mom Part 4

9. My Mom Part 4

Let Me Walk with You

This episode will be the continuation of the series regarding my mom and her cancer journey. About a little less than a week after her birthday, something doesn’t seem right. She’s having trouble remembering things; she’s really scared. Her final day in the condo and our final car ride together were that day. At the time, we were ignorant of that. That's what it was, though. She would never return. There are so many items left lying around, like Christmas decorations that remained up because she thought she would return. She would never eat whatever was pulled out of the fridge for dinner. She wouldn't return there ever again.

If you personally know me, as I hope you do, then I'm sure you've heard this story before. I appreciate you listening once more. Perhaps you overheard something that you weren't aware of. But just know that I value you. I appreciate everyone who has stayed with me through all of these episodes and given this their full attention.

“I got so emotional standing behind my mom's wheelchair while they were wheeling her through the hallway. And all the nurses were waving and saying good luck, Kathy. You got this Kathy but then seeing tears in their eyes like they knew what was going to come they knew that the ending wasn't going to be that great and I guess I subconsciously knew how this was gonna go”

In this episode, I will talk about:

  • The part four of my mother’s story
  • Why my mom doesn’t want additional treatments after knowing she have brain cancer
  • The conversation with the Doctor
